This philosophy is particularly true to our approach in the areas of safety, health and the environment. This approach is based upon the principle of: "No matter how much safety and health cost, what matters is what safety and health provide to us."
He added marking the Safety, Health and the Environment Week in GPIC is a demonstration of the employees' compliance with safety and health policies to become an example to be followed by others in the region. He further said everyone has a major responsibility to shoulder in order to guide others to follow the practices that make a difference and to underline that safety, health and the environment make a good business sense.
He pointed out such achievements in the areas of safety and health could not have been possible without the support and guidance of all the staff and contractors. He also thanked the main and secondary safety committees and the Chairman and members of the SHE Week Organising Committee. Such efforts and contributions will enhance the creation of a safe and healthy work environment that motivates towards better performance and innovation at work.
Jawahery noted that the activities of this Week will include, in co-operation between the GPIC Safety, Health and Environment Sub-committee and some contractors, presentations of activities and achievements of the concerned groups and committees at the exhibition to be held for this purposes.
A number of lecturers will be invited to talk about issues related to safety, health and environment. Also prizes will be given to the best departments in housekeeping and safety at the work place. A shield will be given to the best presentation at the exhibition and for the best display by local contractors.
A prize draw will be held for all the employees in the Company with the aim of raising the staff awareness of the significance of safety. They will be urged to observe safety precautions and concepts both at the workplace and at home. An award will be given to the best contactors in observing safety precautions and occupational health requirements.
