The project is planned to be developed in two phases with a total targeted production capacity of one million tons per annum (1 MTPA) of green ammonia. The State Cabinet has approved the first phase of the project, comprising 0.5 MTPA of production capacity, with an estimated capital expenditure of approximately $1 billion. As part of the approval process, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh has consented to allocate necessary land in Chillakur & Kota Mondal in Tirupati District near Krishnapatnam Port, supporting the development of export-oriented clean energy infrastructure.
The project will also be eligible for incentives and support under the State’s Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, including capital subsidies, tax incentives, and grid connectivity support. The approval marks a significant milestone in Yamna’s expanding global green ammonia platform and reinforces the company’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition through scalable hydrogen derivatives projects.
“The approval of the Andhra Pradesh green ammonia project represents an important step for Yamna to build a globally diversified portfolio of clean energy assets. We appreciate the support extended by the State Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP, Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, and his vision to transform the State into a Green Hydrogen Valley. We look forward to advancing the project into the next development phase.”, said Abdelaziz Yatribi, CEO, Yamna.
