  • US net sales of Upland cotton for the 2024–25 season reached 83,200 RB, up 38 per cent from the prior week but down 23 per cent from the four-week average.
  • Major buyers included Vietnam and Turkiye.

Net sales of Upland cotton in the United States for the 2024–25 season totalled 83,200 running bales (RB), each weighing 226.8 kg (500 pounds), during the week ending June 12, 2025. This represents an increase of 38 per cent from the previous week but a decline of 23 per cent from the prior four-week average.

However, actual export shipments of Upland cotton increased during the week but remained lower than the four-week average.

According to the USDA weekly export sales report, the rise in net sales was primarily due to increases for Vietnam (49,400 RB, including 5,700 RB switched from China, 700 RB from South Korea, 100 RB from Hong Kong, and decreases of 900 RB), Turkiye (15,700 RB, including decreases of 1,200 RB), India (13,700 RB), Bangladesh (2,300 RB), and Taiwan (1,800 RB switched from Malaysia), which were offset by reductions for China (5,800 RB), Malaysia (1,800 RB), and Hong Kong (100 RB).

Net sales of 274,900 RB for 2025–26, primarily for Vietnam (78,800 RB), El Salvador (72,300 RB), Honduras (45,700 RB), Indonesia (25,500 RB), and Bangladesh (25,000 RB), were offset by reductions for China (900 RB) and Mexico (100 RB).

Export shipments of 204,700 RB were down 13 per cent from the previous week and 24 per cent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (49,200 RB), Turkiye (41,900 RB), Pakistan (39,800 RB), Bangladesh (11,900 RB), and Mexico (10,200 RB).

Net sales reductions of Pima cotton totalled 1,900 RB for 2024–25—a marketing-year low—and were down noticeably from both the previous week and the prior four-week average. Increases were reported for India (1,500 RB, including decreases of 900 RB) and China (1,300 RB), but were more than offset by reductions for Egypt (3,000 RB) and Vietnam (2,600 RB).

Net sales of Pima cotton totalling 6,500 RB for 2025–26 were reported for Egypt (3,000 RB), Vietnam (2,600 RB), and India (900 RB). Export shipments of 3,000 RB were down 48 per cent from the previous week and 61 per cent from the prior four-week average.
