Denim by Première Vision took solidly to its new mooring in Paris, breaking all prior attendance records with 1,990 visitors to the sixth edition of the show, held June 2nd and 3rd. This represents a 34% increase in visitors over the year-ago, June 2009, show. International visitors, who now account for two-thirds of all entries, rose 39%, marking the strength of the show's international renown. And total French visitors (667) showed a 24% increase as well.

Italy sends the largest contingent of buyers to the show after France, and is followed by the United Kingdom, Turkey and Germany. Excellent showings by The Netherlands (+29%) and Belgium (+97%), in 6th and 9th positions respectively, confirm the importance of Northern Europe in the jeans galaxy, as does the surge in Swedish buyers (+73.5%). Also noteworthy this session was the growing emergence of U.S. visitors, whose numbers rose by 66%.

Visitors included a prominent array of pure players and brands internationally recognised within the jeans community.

Abercrombie & Fitch Acné A/X Armani Exchange Burberry Carhatt Célio Citizens of Humanity CK Jeanswear Diesel G Star H&M Ikks Le temps des cerises Levi Strauss Mango Marc Jacobs Marithé & François Girbaud NU Pepe Jeans Polo Ralph Lauren Top Shop Urban Outfitters Wrangler Zara.

This gathering of top professionals cannot afford to miss Denim by Première Vision, which is specifically timed to correspond to the demands of their particular calendar.

The new location, which now brings the entire exhibitors' offer under one roof, together with the show design, which ushered visitors into a full-on denim experience right from the entrance, both strongly contributed to the feeling of community that pervaded the hall, further strengthening the bonds that link denim professionals from one end of the sector to the other. A lively atmosphere energised stands and aisles throughout the two days, demonstrating that the show provided a great place to meet and talk business as well.

While enlarging its offer this session to include the major operators in the sector (with 12% new exhibitors), Denim by Première Vision intends to remain focussed on its core business. Of the 70 exhibitors coming from 18 countries, 62% were weavers, 24% were manufacturers/launderers, 10% accessory makers and 1% fibre producers and dyers, with each sector counting within its ranks most of the field's major players.

Future Denim Designers Award
To encourage upcoming designers and increase their awareness of the jeanswear universe, Denim by Première Vision launched the Future Denim Designers Award, with expertise and support provided by Adriano Goldschmeid. For the first edition, Denim by Première Vision asked students in their final year at Central Saint Martins in London to imagine the future of this iconic fashion item. The six finalists personally presented their projects the first night of the show before a jury of specialists, with a number of exhibitors, buyers and members of the press in attendance.
