LFW celebrates five years of the Gen Next platform

India's premier fashion trade event, Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), the pioneer platform in promoting new talent and business of fashion announced a special show paying tribute to the Gen Next platform that completes 5 years this season.

'Gen Next 5 Year Show' will celebrate the spirit of 'Defining the Future of Fashion' with a representation of designer alumni of Gen Next designers; Aneeth Arora, Anuj Sharma, Kallol Datta, Kunal Rawal, Nachiket Barve, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Rahul Mishra, Rimzim Dadu, Sailex Ngairangbam and Swapnil Shinde showcase together on September 18 at 7.00 pm, Grand Hyatt.

The Gen Next platform, introduced in 2006, was initiated with an aim of encouraging and promoting young design talent, extending an opportunity to unveil their creativity and originality in an eminent forum. The selection of this talent has been very select over the years, refined each season by panel of renowned LFW Advisory Board members with consistent focus on quality, innovation, creativity and commercial viability.

Designer mentors like Narendra Kumar and Wendell Rodricks have played a significant role in directing and shaping the future of Gen Next talent over the years. Lakmé Fashion Week, is proud of this unique platform which recorded 172 Gen Next and 92 Emerging designer entries, boasting an incredible increase of 70%, from which the LFW advisory board selected 6 Gen Next & 7 Emerging designers.
