Versace to enter domestic women wear market

Versace, one of the top most Italian designer brands is preparing to capture the women's apparel segment in India by 2008 with the launch of its latest collection of jeans and accessories.

Versace Jeans Couture (VJC) and Gianni Versace will be made available in Indian stores by 2008. The announcement was made to the media by Mr Abhay Gupta, Blues Clothing Company Executive Director.

Blues Clothing Company's main objective is to retail men's and women's apparel in business and fashion wear category. Presently, the group promotes the sale of brands like Corneliani, Versace Collections, Gianni Versace and Versace Jeans Couture.

Although, retail outlets of BCC are prominent in Delhi, a few more outlets are ready to be introduced in the capital city. Versace mainline would be launched by March 2008 at the Grand and Vasant Kunj, while VJC would be brought about at two exclusive boutiques at South Extension and DLF Emporio Mall.

BCC is expecting a turnover of Rs25 crore for 2008 and Rs40 crore in 2009. While Versace Mainline is an apparel and accessory collection from the house of Gianni Versace having accessory collection for men and women ranging from eye wear to bags and jewellery, VJC is a casual clothing line with focus on informal clothing.
