Stead & Simpson Plc, the 400-store British shoe chain, has agreed to a management buyout valuing the company at £51.4 million (€75.2 million), according to the sources.
The deal for the Leicester-based firm is backed by Bank of Scotland, which will have a stake in the company, which was founded in 1834 and has more than 400 outlets in the UK.
