Kellwood Company announced its acquisition of HOLLYWOULD Inc effective according to Robert C. Skinner, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of Kellwood Company.

Founded by creative director Holly Dunlap in 1999 as a sumptuous shoe collection, Dunlap named her brand HOLLYWOULD because she knew her main source of inspiration would come from the indulgent lifestyle of Hollywood. Today brand classifications include apparel and accessories as well as shoes.

Dunlap's passion for the fashion world began in her teens when she captured an unpaid internship with one of the leading New York fashion designers at the time. She was rewarded for her efforts with high-end designer shoes.

That experience taught her there were shoes and then there were shoes. After design school in Paris, Dunlap secured her dream job working for Christian Lacroix, followed by a stint with Vivienne Westwood in London.

She returned to the United States and became the head designer at Lilly Pulitzer where she led the renaissance of the Lilly brand. Capitalizing on her experience with storied design houses, Dunlap decided to create her own brand in Hollywould.

The lavish, upscale line offers glamorous products with an all-American sex appeal for the woman who aspires to be the "Hollywould girl." From the ubiquitous ballerina flat worn by many celebrities to the sexy form-fitting signature silk print gown, Hollywould fits the lifestyle of the woman who wants to wrap herself in alluring, fine quality designs.
