Gulbris & Romero walk in adidas golf footwear at Evian's event

TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professionals Natalie Gulbis, 24, and Andres Romero, 26, each posted their first tour victories yesterday, both in dramatic fashion.
Playing a TaylorMade TP Black ball, Gulbis tied for first in regulation play with a four-under-par 284 on the challenging Evian Masters Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France.
On the first playoff hole, the 467-yard par-five 18th, Gulbis got home in two by crushing her TaylorMade Burner driver off the tee, then striping a TaylorMade hybrid onto the green.
A two-putt birdie followed, giving her a well-deserved and long-awaited win. In addition to playing TaylorMade equipment, she also wore adidas Golf POWERBAND footwear and ClimaCool apparel.
Romero, the exciting young Argentinean who fired a final-round 64 to finish third at last week's Open Championship, shook off the disappointment of his near-miss by winning the Deutsche Bank Players' Championship by three shots.
His 19-under-par winning score was highlighted by a third-round 63 at the Gut Kaden Golf Club in Hamburg, Germany. His play was punctuated by strong driving with a TaylorMade Burner driver, with which he averaged 295.3 yards off the tee.
Gulbis' and Romero's wins represented the seventh and eighth professional worldwide victories for the TaylorMade Burner driver worldwide. The Burner, one of the most popular new driver models on the PGA Tour, is engineered to promote greater distance through fasterspeed.
Jim Furyk, one of the steadiest and consistently high-performing professionals on the PGA Tour, successfully defended his Canadian Open title at Angus Glen Golf Club in Ontario, Canada.
Both times he won the event while wearing adidas Golf footwear, this time in the TOUR360 II, which is designed to promote wider tour platform and anchor-like base for greater stability and confidence.
