Liz Claiborne Inc announced the appointment of Tom Fitzgerald as Chief Operating Officer of Direct Brands effective September 24, 2007.
Mr. Fitzgerald will report to Michael Scarpa, Chief Operating Officer, Liz Claiborne Inc and will work closely with Jill Granoff, Executive Vice President of Direct Brands.
Mr. Fitzgerald will support the Lucky Brand Jeans, Kate Spade, Juicy Couture and Outlet businesses, and will partner with leaders at Mexx to ensure the adoption of best practices across all Direct Brands.
As Chief Operating Officer for Direct Brands, he will oversee retail store roll-out, enhance store operating effectiveness, improve retail supply chain capabilities, and help implement retail-based systems to increase operating efficiency.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Scarpa said, "In July we unveiled our strategic plan and our emphasis on our Direct Brands as an engine for future growth."

Tom has extensive experience in business and financial management in the retail and packaged goods industries, both domestically and internationally.
