With regard to foreign buyers, Japan once again came out on top – the sector’s most important market, with over 150 visitors – followed by Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Canada, United Kingdom, Poland, Sweden, France, Hong Kong, Austria and China.
“ModaPrima 72 offered a clear photograph of today’s fashion market,” says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine. “The buyers approached the fair in an extremely concrete manner, with a very precise idea of the right products for this segment of fashion retailing, and with a desire to place orders and view collections. They found many high level proposals amongst the 120 collections presented by our exhibitors, with higher levels of stylistic and product quality, and a series of customer services that only Italian fast fashion companies are able to offer on an international scale. We have a series of important new features planned for future editions: we will be boosting our relaunch of the event, increasing its role as an international platform for this specific sector”.
The new features planned for the next edition of Modaprima:
New dates: from Friday to Sunday. The next edition of ModaPrima (23-25 November 2012) will be held from Friday to Sunday instead of from Saturday to Monday, bringing the opening date forward by one day. “This choice was made in order to offer the market an additional service,” adds Agostino Poletto. “It reflects the requirements of members of the trade and, above all, international buyers: the change will facilitate their travel arrangements and give them an extra day in the middle of the week, at the beginning of the fair, to plan their meetings with exhibiting companies.”
The E-Pitti on-line project, made to measure for fast fashion: In the light of the excellent results achieved by E-Pitti, the virtual fair platform launched by Pitti Immagine and Fiera Digitale for Pitti Uomo, Pitti Bimbo and Pitti Filati, ModaPrima will also be launching a specific on-line project dedicated to exhibitors’ collections. This will increase the period of time allocated to presenting the same and multiply the business opportunities for a sector – like fast fashion – in which collection proposals are constantly being renewed and adapted to satisfy customer demands.
