Deb Shops Inc declares May sales & appointment of VP

Deb Shops Inc reported that comparable store sales increased 1.4 percent for the month ended May 31, 2006. Total sales increased 4.8 percent to $27.4 million from $26.2 million for the month ended May 31, 2005.
The Company reports financial results on the calendar month, therefore, differences in timing will occur when comparing Deb Shops' results to those of retailers reporting on a 4-5-4 calendar.
The Company also announced that Lorraine Koc has been appointed to the position of Vice President (VP) and General Counsel. Ms. Koc has been employed by Deb Shops for more than 20 years as General Counsel.
