Ermenegildo Zegna rolls out luxury underwear line with Perofil

High-end menswear maker Ermenegildo Zegna Group and Perofil have entered a worldwide licensing agreement to develop, produce and distribute an Ermenegildo Zegna underwear line, including sports models and loungewear Bergamo-based Perofil, in business since 1910 and present in over 30 countries, is a world leading brand of quality cotton handkerchiefs, pyjamas, dressing gowns, men's luxury socks and underwear.
The global luxury underwear market is a growing market, where the new partners are expected to secure a significant share.
The agreement is built around a long-term licensing contract.
The Ermenegildo Zegna underwear line will launch at Pitti in January 2007, making its market debut in July 2007 through dedicated areas within Zegna's stores, and the most exclusive speciality stores in the world.
“Our agreement with Perofil,” said Ermenegildo Zegna, CEO of the Group with his cousin Paolo, “is another step forward in our strategy of brand extension through alliances with manufacturers that represent the very best in their market segments. In the underwear market, Perofil guarantee's high quality, but also innovation with optimum wearability and comfort, as well as elegance and style”.

Ermenegildo Zegna Group makes high-end menswear and sportswear sold at more than 375 locations in about 35 countries. It also makes accessories such as ties and produces a line of clothing for Gucci.
Founded as a textile mill, the firm produces its own high-quality fabrics and supplies them to top designers and tailors. It has expanded by opening stores worldwide and offering products online.
