The current sales figures for the shirt manufacturer Olymp from Bietigheim-Bissingen show once again a considerable increase over the first six months of the financial year 2006.
The market shares are continuing upwards and the company constantly records above-average growth. After the annual turnover for 2005 rose by around 16 percent to a total of €74.2 million, the current half-year turnover (as of 30 June 2006) already stands at €40.3 million (last year 36.1). This represents a rise of 11.6 percent.
Olymp is therefore steadily approaching its goal of unequivocally resolving the hard competition over the market leadership in its own favour. It has always perceived itself as a partner to the trade.
Mark Bezner, CEO at Olymp Bezner GmbH & Co KG, stated, “We will support the specialist trade as our most important sales channel, not only through specific advertising and marketing measures, but also through other concrete services, so that our partners can stand their ground in the difficult clothing market. As a result of the cyclical downturn in specialized businesses of the textile retail trade, however, new sales opportunities will have to be developed in future as a matter of urgency.”
The company has therefore decided to open two new Olymp shops in Hamburg and Karlsruhe, in addition to the existing sales outlets in Bochum, Munich, Augsburg and Regensburg – the specialist trade being no longer able to guarantee adequate brand presentation at all the selected sites.
