Estée Lauder promotes John Demsey as Group President

Daniel J. Brestle, Chief Operating Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies announced the promotion of John Demsey to Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies. Mr. Demsey, who was previously Global Brand President of Estée Lauder, will continue to oversee the Estée Lauder brand as well as M-A-C Cosmetics, Prescriptives, Sean John and Tom Ford Beauty and will continue to report to Dan Brestle.

John Demsey began his career in retail, holding various executive positions with Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. He then moved into cosmetics as Vice President of Sales at the specialty division of Revlon handling Borghese, Alexandra de Markoff and Lancaster Cosmetics. Mr. Demsey joined The Estée Lauder Companies in 1991 where he held several positions at the Estée Lauder brand including Senior Vice President of Sales and Education for Estée Lauder USA and Canada.
