NID-professor Mr. Somesh Singh has introduced special collection of shirts that can help divert attention away from the problem areas in a person's body, especially tummy. Somesh Singh, a 30-year-old leading men's wear designer at Ahmedabad based National Institute of Design (NID), conducted an extensive study on consumer behaviour in 10 Indian cities before coming up with his collection called “Vintage Soul”.

The collection has been also been derived by doing an exhaustive study of leading 22 menswear brand all across the world before conceptualizing the collection. The collection deals beautifully with function and fashion.

Collars and cuffs in contrasting colours and shifted sides and princess seams can divert attention away from a person's waist. Similarly, extra-hidden buttons can be used so that its middle part doesn't open up while the person is in a sitting posture. Pointing to a shirt, he said: 'I have done a lot of pattern engineering in garments as to solve problems of access gathering at the waist and also introduced special seams that could make fat person cut visual weight' at side creating a huge persona difference.

The designer took out another shirt to show folds that could allow free body movements without any visible stress on the cloth. Singh says established brands do not take into consideration practical problems faced by the people; nor do they bother about making suitable clothes for different Indian body structures.
