Harajuku area of Tokyo has now acquired a new look amongst some. The new look reminds people of private schools with the preppy shirts worn a little messily, and neck-ties worn a little loose to rebel the school dress codes.

The trend had started amongst the mode followers who are usually categorized as the hair-salon boys, as many works at hair salons.

Now, the trend has been slowly spreading to girls and young boys and created a new style that helps define the difference between Harajuku and Shibuya (where all the young so-called “Gals” are.)

The most popular types of ties are the narrow ones with flat hems. Black is by far the best selling color, followed by gray and many purchase at very low prices.

With this new popularity, ladies casual shopping building 109 has started to store ties as well as many select shops in the Harajuku area.

T-shirts with neck-ties already printed on has gradually gained fans and can be seen here and there. The tartan-check ties have always been around with the punk-lovers like those who are a loyal fan of Vivien Westwood.

These neck-ties are worn with damaged denim, polo shirts, rock t-shirts, and plain shirts. All in all, the trend is definitely facing British traditional where punk meets preppy. The men's autumn product line-up is very strong in the preppy concept.

Many apparel makers have gained quite an amount of orders for their Tilden sweaters and elegant polo shirts. For women, the trend seems to be split into 2, the feminine and masculine, but the obvious is that neck-ties, tailored vests and men's trousers are coming as they are featured in magazines.
