Swiss watch brand Longines owned by The Swatch Group is proud to announce a benefit with brand ambassador and “Icon of Elegance” Harry Connick, Jr. to raise much-needed funds and awareness for the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in the Musicians' Village and Operation Love Thy Neighbor, two Habitat for Humanity programs that are building homes for those displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Longines and Harry Connick, Jr. will host the exclusive event in Houston on October 18th at the estate of Landry's Restaurant Inc President, Chairman and CEO, Tilman and wife Paige Fertitta.
Recognizing the impact of Hurricane Katrina, and Connick's heartfelt commitment to the rebuilding efforts, Longines decided to host an event in Houston, the city that continues to embrace the more than 150,000 displaced Katrina evacuees.
Connick, a native of New Orleans, has been one of the most active celebrities supporting the rebuilding of the Crescent City.
Together, Longines and Connick will auction off the five remaining exclusive Longines evidenza limited edition watches in a series of 10, featuring a timeless tonneau-shaped rose gold case with case-back signed by Harry Connick, Jr.
All proceeds from the ticket sales and timepieces will directly benefit New Orleans-based Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in the Musicians' Village and Houston-based Operation Love Thy Neighbor.
“Building on our success in New York at The Pajama Game benefit, we wanted to continue assisting Harry Connick, Jr.'s mission, making an impact on all of the people affected by Katrina, many of which have made Houston their home indefinitely,” said Linda Passaro, General Manager, Longines U.S.
