“We will look to build on the successes of Yakka from the past, continuing to invest strongly in the brands and in driving operational efficiency and leveraging the combined group's scale across sourcing, logistics and technology.”
Yakka Chairman Mr John Laidlaw said, “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved over many years at Yakka and believe that the business has the potential to grow further. Having conducted a detailed strategic review I have concluded that for Yakka to reach the next stage of its potential it needs to be part of a larger apparel group with a strong balance sheet and well-developed supply chain."
“The sale of Yakka to Pacific Brands will be positive for our employees, customers and suppliers. Pacific Brands has a strong consumer marketing orientation, a powerful supply chain and excellent back office processes and I would expect that their capabilities will be applied to further drive the Yakka business and strengthen the brands”.
