SA fashion Co, Stuttafords to close Nairobi outlet

South African clothes retailer Stuttafords is looking to close its Nairobi branch only couple of years after its launch here.

The retailer requested an early end of its lease, to be terminated by March 31, 2007.

Company said that this was part of the strategic decision to close several of its stores.

Stuttafords is celebrated fashion house that offers major international brands like Nike, Guess, Carducci, Polo, Hilfiger, Levis, Puma and Jeep.

Sources say that the closure will be the loss of estimated investment of $3 million and in all about 30 employees would be laid off.
