Cache Inc, a specialty chain of women's apparel stores with 294 stores open, reported June 2007 sales figures.
Comparable store sales:
• Increased 1% during the 5-week June 2007 period compared to an increase of 4% in the prior year period;
• Increased 1% during the 13-week period ended June 30, 2007, as compared to the same period in 2006; and
• Increased 1% during the 26-week period ended June 30, 2007, as compared to the same period in 2006.
Mr. Brian Woolf, Cache's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer commented: “Our June comparable store sales increase of 1% reflected solid sales trends during the second half of the month, which we attribute to a favorable response to our assortments with particular strength in dresses. We were also successful in moving clearance inventory during the month. As we begin July, sales for the first 10 days have remained positive.”
Total sales:
• Decreased $0.1 million, or 0.5% to $22.0 million for the 5-week period ended June 30, 2007. The 5-week period for fiscal 2006 included $1.2 million in sales for the former Lillie Rubin chain;
• Decreased $0.8 million, or 1.1% to $70.9 million for the 13-week period ended June 30, 2007. The 13-week period for fiscal 2006 included $4.2 million in sales for the former Lillie Rubin chain; and
• Decreased $0.2 million, or 0.1% to $135.3 million for the 26-week period ended June 30, 2007. The 26-week period for fiscal 2006 included $8.7 million in sales for the former Lillie Rubin chain.
