The Jang Group and GEO TV recently unveiled exciting new plans to launch the Pakistan fashion industry internationally with the establishment of Pakistan Fashion Week (PFW). The inaugural event will be held at the Royal Palm Golf & Country Club in Lahore, Pakistan, from 5 – 8 November 2007.
The event is to be established in conjunction with IMG FASHION, the world's premier fashion event organisation that is responsible for producing a number of the most successful international fashion weeks.
The Indian and Pakistan industries will be tangibly linked following the Pakistan Fashion Week Advisory Board meeting which will take place on 1 August 2007. At this meeting, the board will select designers to participate in the Pakistan Fashion Week from 5 – 8 November 2007.
A select group of designers will also be hand picked to participate as part of an international showcase of Pakistan designers at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW). This showcase looks to highlight the strength of the Pakistan fashion industry to international buyers and media and, in particular, the Indian and Middle East markets which are seen as key targets for these designers.
“Unilever India is proud of our association with Lakme Fashion Week and looks forward to welcoming some of Pakistan's leading designers to participate in this event to help broaden their reach into India, the Middle East and further into the international fashion market,” said Anil Chopra, VP, Lakme Lever, India.
