Wolverine World Wide announced the appointment of Jordan J. Wand to the position of Vice President and General Manager of Merrell Apparel. Jordan will report directly to Scott Sible, President of Merrell.
The Merrell brand and business have experienced rapid global expansion since becoming a part of the Wolverine World Wide portfolio of brands. From 1997 to 2003, Merrell footwear grew tenfold, and the momentum for the brand continues as it has posted strong double-digit annual growth in recent years.
Merrell Footwear is marketed in 100 countries around the world and the global Merrell consumer is seeking apparel that provides the unique Merrell brand perspective. Merrell Apparel will begin to ship in August and the apparel will be primarily distributed in outdoor specialty retailers this first season.
Commenting on the appointment, Scott Sible stated, "Jordan's background in general management and innovative and leading edge apparel design make him uniquely qualified to lead the Merrell Apparel effort. His experience heading up performance apparel brands will provide the Merrell brand with the necessary focus and direction for sustained long-term growth in the apparel category."
