Following closely behind was one for the boys, with the invention of the pull back and release model car. In 1964 Galt Toys sprang up on Carnaby Street offering a range of wooden toys; children had never had such a sophisticated and varied choice of inspirational toys.
The success of companies like Kids in Gear, Biba and Galt Toys revealed that demonstrating ones status and wealth was now something for all the family.
The exhibition showcases work, pictures and toys from a variety of instrumental designers of the time, including Biba and Ossie Clark and runs from the 14 – 29th September at Pollock's Toy Museum in Fitzrovia, London.
