Inditex Group reports net sales of €4,124 million - an increase of 19% in the first half of FY2007.
• The logistic platform in Meco (Madrid, Spain) commenced operations in this period, incorporating 650 employees • The Group has created 10,109 new jobs over the last twelve months, resulting in a total of 72,377 employees worldwide • Inditex net sales reached €4,124 million in the first half of the year, 19% higher than during the same half of 2006. Net income reached €393 million • LFL sales growth reached 7%, versus a 5% increase in the same period of 2006 • The eight commercial concepts opened 205 new stores between 1st February and 31st July, reaching a total number of 3,336 stores in 66 countries at the end of this period • International store sales reached 62%. Sales in European stores -excluding Spain- represented 41% of the total
Net sales for Inditex in the first half of FY2007 –from February 1st to July 31st - increased by 19%, compared to the same period of 2006, reaching €4,124 million. The increase is the result of both the space growth –the Group opened 205 new stores of its eight concepts- and the increase of 7% in like-for-like sales, compared to the 5% increase in the same half of 2006.
International store sales reached 62% of the total, compared to 60% in the same period of 2006. Store sales in Europe –excluding Spain- represented 41% of the total, consolidating this area as the region contributing most to the Group's sales.
