WOMEN'S TRENDS SPRING-SUMMER 2008

SLIM THAT SILHOUETTE!:
That's the obsession that's been dominating all fashion products for a few seasons now. Within this trend, footwear becomes an essential tool for putting the spotlight on legs that go on forever. Treatments that brighten the materials used mean that everything shines with light.

ELEGANT URBAN:
Couture vs. comfortable. A new high fashion idea for lines and shapes that are elegant yet youthful. Yves Klein blue. Orange, deep orange and coral replace red. 1950s cocktail sandals and blunt-toed court shoes with barely noticeable wedges. Materials are mainly natural, with textiles or leathers that imitate textiles. Glossy effects play a key role.

NEW CULTURED MINIMAL:
Design Era! The Sixties, in the US and Scandinavia. Graphics and geometrical shapes. Dynamism and poetry. Cadillac blue and Miami pink. Synthetic and natural. Glossy and matte. Patent, vinyl and rubber. Metallic, mother-of-pearl leather. Sportswear-inspired shapes for sandals with deep cuts in the uppers that make them less technical and more glamorous.

HISTORY, ART AND ARCHAEOLOGY:
Wild Fusion. A taste for the hand-made, with Amerindian or ritual African influences. Natural, rough, dusty colours, with bright yellows. Gem-studded sandals with wedges and cuts, as well as ultra-flat and flip-flop styles. Leathers and natural textiles are appliquéd with rough gems made from shells, amulets, semi-precious stones, emerald root, malachite.
