Massimo Dutti is opening a store in the centre of Allariz (Ourense) aimed at both inhabitants of the area and the numerous visitors who come each year, which will be run by disabled persons.
This is the second store to form part of the 'for & from' project, after the store opened in 2002 in Palafolls (Barcelona). On this occasion, Inditex has had the collaboration of the Confederación Galega de Persoas con Discapacidade (COGAMI – the Galician Confederation of Handicapped Persons) and the Allariz Local Authority.
This store has a series of technical solutions aimed at increasing accessibility and mobility for disabled people and sells Massimo Dutti products from previous seasons at reduced prices, which guarantees a level of commercial activity that is in accordance with the objectives of the project.
•The store which is opening in Allariz (Ourense), belonging to the Massimo Dutti chain, joins the existing one in Palafolls (Barcelona)
•The staff is entirely made up of people with physical disabilities
•This is a project in which Inditex is collaborating with COGAMI and the Allariz Local Authority
•In the store different measures have been taken to achieve the greatest possible accessibility
•The initiative is completed with a cultural space, the programme for which is starting off with an exhibition organised by Médicos Sin Fronteras (the Spanish Section of Médecins sans Frontières)
The staff is currently made up of five employees, all of whom have different degrees of physical disability and are in a disability range of between 30 and 70 percent. The selection of the staff has been the responsibility of COGAMI, which has the necessary knowledge about the employment needs of the disabled, with the support of the Human Resources department of Massimo Dutti.
