dmg world media announced plans to launch two shows in partnership with the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) – the SGMA Team Sports Show and the SGMA Sports Licensing Show. Both shows are scheduled to take place June 9-11, 2008 at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas. The shows will be managed by the dmg world media team that produces the twice-annual Surf Expo in Orlando.
“This launch is not only the addition of two fantastic new products for the dmg world media portfolio, but also a great step forward for our newly established business-to-retail sector,” said Mike Cooke, Chief Executive Officer, dmg world media. “Our commitment to truly understanding our customers combined with our strength in sales, marketing and buyer relations will ensure that we produce a dynamic new event for the sporting goods industry.”
The partnership for these dmg world media-owned shows will see dmg world media managing the sales, marketing and operational aspects; while SGMA will be responsible for producing the educational program the runs alongside the shows. SGMA will hand over production of the former SGMA Spring Market Show and will endorse the new dmg world media shows as the key buying events for their industry.

The SGMA Team Sports Show will feature manufacturers of team sports apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, and will draw team distributors and authentic team retailers from across North America. The SGMA Licensing Show product will include professional and collegiate sports licensed products including apparel, equipment, home accessories, gifts and memorabilia. Together, the shows are projected to offer 700 booths.
