INS Vikrant's deck will ramp up for Italian fashion show

They technical team has inspected the ship several times.

They will ensure the guests follow the rules and regulations set by the Navy and that the sanctity of the ship is respected.'

The 40-minute show is being choreographed by model-turned choreographer Marc Robinson.

The models who will sashay down this unique ramp will include Nina Manuel, Tapur and Tupur Chatterjee, Jyoti Randhawa, Laxmi Pandit and Tinu Varghese.

After Mumbai, the two designers will showcase their work in Banglore on Nov 23 and Delhi on Nov 24.

IMS Vikrant is presently anchored near Tiger Gate, opposite to Middle Ground near Gateway of India.

It was converted into an Indian museum ship two years ago.

This was done with a view to meet the enormous demand of the people to see the ship and also assess the economic viability of sustaining her.

According to Navy officials, a corpus of about Rs 12 crore was needed to generate funds for the ship's annual upkeep.
