Sylvia Park's much anticipated fashion precinct will open its doors to the public on Thursday, 24 August, at 10.00am. On offer will be an additional 50 stores – all specialist fashion retailers – and amongst them a number of international brands not seen in New Zealand before.

Iconic Australian brands, Kookai, and Roxy make their first appearances in New Zealand on Thursday and will trade alongside Country Road, Mooks, David Lawrence, Cue, Glassons, Max and Oroton, who are just a few of the local and international brands opening their doors.

The opening of the fashion precinct brings on stream another 7,500 m2 of covered shopping space at the Sylvia Park complex. When fully complete, the $388 million Kiwi Income Property Trust project will boast more than 65,000 m2 of retail space, making it over 50 percent larger than any other retailing complex in the country.

Angus McNaughton, Chief Executive of the Manager of Kiwi Income Property Trust, said that “with the opening of the fashion precinct, Sylvia Park now offers one of the strongest and most diverse retail offerings anywhere in the country, and certainly one of the most comprehensive fashion choices available”.

He said the opening of the fashion precinct will add a whole new customer base for Sylvia Park – “certainly that is the feedback we have been getting over the last few months from consumers who are eagerly awaiting the opening of this stage of the project”.

The fashion precinct opening day will be marked by a special early morning blessing by the people of Marutuahu. Of special significance will be the blessing of an ancient stream that historically crossed the Sylvia Park site. The stream has been recognised in the design of the flooring in this part of the Centre.
