The Guangdong Leather Industry Association is constructing a footwear accessory production base in Huidong. This became necessary as accessories for footwear reach late affecting production.
The centre is expected to cover 1.33 million square meters and annual production is expected to be around $622 million by the end of 2010.
Huidong is a very important shoe production area in Guangdong. There are over 3,000 shoe-manufacturers in the area. The region bought footwear accessories worth $500 million purchased from other areas, said an official.
