Apparel retailer Charming Shoppes' Chairman receives Paradigm award

Specialty apparel retailer Charming Shoppes, Inc's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, Dorrit J Bern, was the recipient of The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce's 2006 Paradigm Award, sponsored by the Devereux Foundation, at a luncheon held on March 16, 2006.
The Paradigm Award honors a Greater Philadelphia businesswoman whose outstanding personal and professional achievements have contributed to the betterment of the region.
The Chamber presented Ms. Bern with the $50,000 Paradigm Gift, provided by Devereux, in order to support Charming Shoppes' ongoing community service efforts in the Philadelphia region.
Bern has allocated the Gift to the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania to create a mentoring program for girls in the city of Philadelphia.
Bern said that she would like to express her deepest appreciation to the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Devereux Foundation for this meaningful award and gift.
The Paradigm Gift provides Charming Shoppes with the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Devereux's exceptional founder, Helena Devereux.
