Cherokee Q3 fiscal'06 results out, total revenues up 5%

Leading brand Management Company Cherokee Inc reported its highest ever third quarter revenue and pre-tax income for its quarter ended October 29, 2005.
Net revenues for the three months ended October 29, 2005 rose 5.0 Percent or $0.4 million to $8.4 million, compared to revenues of $8.0 million in the comparable period last year. Net revenues for the nine months ended October 29, 2005 rose 8.0 Percent or $2.4 million to $32.8 million compared to revenues of $30.4 million in the comparable period last year.
Selling, general and administrative expenses for the three months ended October 29, 2005 were $3.0 million, which is up from the $2.8 million in the comparable quarter last year. Interest and other income for the three months ended October 29, 2005 totaled $119,000 versus $91,000 reported last year. Interest income this year is trending higher due to larger cash balances and also higher interest rates.
Pre-tax income for the three months ended October 29, 2005 totaled $5.4 million, an increase of 4.2 Percent as compared to the $5.2 million reported for the comparable period last year. Net earnings for the three months ended October 29, 2005 totaled $3.3 million or $0.37 per diluted share, compared to $3.3 million or $0.38 per diluted share in the year ago period.
Net earnings for the nine months ended October 29, 2005 totaled $13.9 million or $1.58 per diluted share, compared to $13.2 million or $1.51 per diluted share in the year ago period. The Company ended the quarter with cash and equivalents of $12.2 million, net receivables of $7.9 million and no debt.
