Argentina’s apparel imports surged 83 per cent to $223.796 million during January–April 2025, while its fabric imports rose 56 per cent to $175.381 million in the same period. China remained the top supplier for both categories, maintaining a dominant position. In the previous year, the country’s apparel imports experienced significant volatility, whereas fabric imports have steadily declined since 2022.

In the first four months of 2025, Argentina’s apparel imports from China totalled $128.164 million, accounting for 57.27 per cent of total imports. Other major suppliers, including Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, collectively contributed less than 24 per cent, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.

China also supplied 72 per cent of Argentina’s fabric imports, valued at $126.559 million during the same period. Other suppliers—Brazil, Pakistan, the US, and Mexico—accounted for less than 23 per cent of the trade.

Argentina’s apparel imports totalled $345.222 million in 2024, marking a 6.50 per cent decline from $369.813 million in 2023. However, this was still 23.82 per cent higher than the $298.881 million recorded in 2022. Apparel imports experienced notable volatility in 2024.

In contrast, fabric imports have steadily declined over the past three years. Argentina imported $705.985 million worth of fabric in 2022, which dropped 26 per cent to $521.242 million in 2023. The decline continued in 2024, falling a further 29.55 per cent to $367.295 million, as per TexPro.

However, both apparel and fabric imports have shown an upward trend so far in 2025.
