According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, out of the total apparel import from Turkiye, the UK imported 54.882 million units of apparel at a unit price of $9.53, totalling $522.828 million in the first five months of the current year. Apparel imported by number of units accounted for 85 per cent of the total apparel imports. It is worth noting that the UK categorises apparel into four groups for better representation.
The country imported $65.791 million worth of other apparel, which were valued at $53.438 million during the same period. The per pair import price was $0.81 during this period. It also imported 1.312 million kg of another type of apparel at $28.38 per kg, valued at $37.240 million during the period. There were also imports of 14,737 UNK (unknown units) at a price of $41.78 per unit, totalling imports of $0.615 million, as per TexPro.
In 2023, the UK imported 166.207 million units at an average price of $8.88 per unit, totalling $1,475.512 million. The largest category of apparel accounted for around 84 per cent of the total apparel imports from Turkiye. Apparel imported in pairs were valued at $156.888 million, with an average price of $0.80 per pair. Apparel imported in kilograms were valued at $115.935 million, and the imports in UNK were valued at $2.142 million.
