Anita Kathpalia, head of business, home, Fab India, says ”today the market for home linen is flourishing and there is a enormous requirement for it with customers trying for superior quality and good design.”
In the past, customers had to hunt for hours together to fetch a right table linen; thankfully, home stores today are swamped with a wonderful array.
Fascinatingly, Fab India stretched out from fabrics into the home linen sale and supplies a substantial range to its 35 stores all over the country.
Almost all leading home stores dealing in high-end linen are equipped with their summer collection and offering home linen that is in synchronous with the fashion trends.
Neelima Rao, product manager, Maspar, a home linen retail and export house says, “Trends in design for home linen in India are almost at par with international trends.” “For home linen, the design trends are in tune with fashion trends, but modified to homes,” she adds.
According to Sonia Lall of Tarini, a renowned store that stores a variety of home linen “it's cotton and organza that people are picking up for the summer.”
Silks have stumbled back owing to swelling temperatures while cotton and silk stay uniformly acceptable materials for home linen.
While most home linen stores provide a variety of handy bedspreads, duvets, cushion covers,tablecloths, mats, napkins, runners and aprons, some stores supply made-to-order to certain circle.
