The first edition of Denim by Première Vision recently closed its doors, with very exciting overall results. Over the course of two days (4-5 December 2007), at the Docks in Paris Saint Denis, the jeanswear world came together for the first professional gathering exclusively dedicated to denim, a meeting held early in this product's season.
Some 45 exhibitors from throughout the world, including weavers, treatment specialists and accessories' manufacturers, presented their denim creations and innovations for spring summer 09.
They received nearly 1,300 professional visits, there to meet them for 48 hours of intense work and discussion. These included representatives of the biggest names in international jeanswear, including Closed, Mustang, Levi Strauss, Diesel, Guess, Marithé + François Girbaud, Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans, G-star, 7 for all mankind, Dsquared2, Sixty, Lee Cooper, Edwin, Gap, Kohzo... as well as major names in ready-to-wear, including Hugo Boss, Burberry, Massimo Dutti, Agnes b, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, Moschino, H&M and others. - Much better than expected, it was concentrated and well selected, said Bruno Van den Weghe of the Italian company Italdenim. - A fine selection of clients, underlined Jose Luis Zabaleta of the Spanish denim-maker Tavex. - Quite a good response to the demands of the market, estimated Lorenzo Lugli from Cadica. - The timing was good, which meant a return of clients who had stopped attending trade fairs.
