Lower upstream product prices and sluggish demand led to Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) prices going down in Asia in last week ending Sept 26 from its previous week ending Sept 19.

In S E Asia, average prices showed similar trend last week and fell 2.11 percent and were assessed at US$ 920/ton, as compared to US$ 940/ton in its previous week.
In India too, average PTA prices also declined by US$ 20/ton or 2.11 percent and were offered at US$ 930/ton against US$ 950/ton in its previous week.
In China, average prices decreased by US$ 30/ton or 3.26 percent to US$ 890/ton versus US$ 920/ton.
