Chinese caprolactam (CPL) prices dipped in the previous week ending Oct 2, from weak market fundamentals and bearish sentiments.

The Chinese CPL market showed weak consolidation and prices declined as poor downstream demand and thin trading activity during last week.

Chinese CPL suppliers reduced offer prices during the week under review, however downstream buyers were still cautious and showed no enthusiasm in replenishment of stocks.

Mainstream offers for CPL in the USD market were in the range of US$ 2160/ton to US$ 2170/ton, while trade prices were estimated between US$ 2150/ton to US$ 2160/ton last week.

In the Chinese domestic market, CPL prices were assessed in the range of RMB 15,900/ton to RMB 16,200/ton, but traded prices were around RMB 16,000/ton to RMB 16,100/ton.
