Nan Ya Plastics Corporation is planning to shut its No.1 monoethylene glycol (MEG) line for maintenance turnaround this month.

“No.1 MEG line is likely to be shut for maintenance turnaround on November 15, 2014. The plant is likely to remain shut for around one month,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The No.3 MEG line was restarted on November 3, 2014, post maintenance turnaround,” the official further informed.

Both No.1 and No.3 MEG lines are located in Mailiao, Taiwan, with each line having a production capacity of 360,000 tons/yr.

MEG is used as a chemical intermediate for manufacturing polyester resins and fibres.
