Asian ethylene trends down last week from insipid buying

Insipid buying sentiments, led to Asian ethylene prices showing downward trend in the last week ending Nov 8.

Prices also declined due to ample of product availability coupled with poor demand for downstream products and lower upstream energy prices in the region.

On Monday (Nov 3), prices were assessed at US$ 1290/ton in Korea, which declined to US$ 1220/ton by the end of the last week, down US$ 70/ton.

Prices showed similar trend in Japan and went down to US$ 1215/ton by the end of last week vis-à-vis US$ 1285/ton on Nov 3.

In S E Asia, prices dropped by US$ 15/ton by the end of last week and were quoted at US$ 1260/ton as compared to US$ 1275/ton at the beginning of the week.

In N E Asia, prices dipped by US$ 70/ton and were spotted at US$ 1260/ton towards end of last week, against US$ 1330/ton on Monday.
