Asian ethylene prices crash last week due to poor demand

Ethylene prices crashed in Asia in the last week ending Dec 19, due to poor downstream product demand in the region.

In Korea, average prices dropped by US$ 75/ton or 7.39 per cent and were assessed at 940/ton last week, as compared to its previous week ending Dec 12.

In Japan, average prices dipped by US$ 75/ton and were quoted at US$ 940/ton last week, down 7.39 per cent as against its previous week.

In SE Asia also, average prices went down by US$ 60/ton and were offered at US$ 1030/ton last week from its previous week, a decrease of 5.50 per cent.

In India too, average ethylene prices fell by US$ 55/ton or 5.05 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 1035/ton last week.
