Asian propylene drops steeply last week from weak upstream

Propylene prices dropped steeply in Asia in the last week ending Dec 19 from weak downstream and upstream product prices in the region.

In Korea, average propylene prices tumbled by US$ 180/ton or 23.68 per cent and were quoted at US$ 580/ton last week, as compared to its previous week ending Dec 12.

In Japan, average prices also crashed but slower by US$ 135/ton and were assessed at US$ 660/ton last week, down 16.98 per cent as against its previous week.

In SE Asia, average prices were also knocked down by US$ 135/ton or 15.88 per cent from its previous week and were offered at US$ 715/ton last week.

In India, average prices too slipped by US$ 135/ton and were spotted at US$ 715/ton last week, as compared to its previous week, a decline of 15.88 per cent.
