Asian benzene prices rose sharply this week due to increase in higher upstream and downstream product prices in the region coupled with higher benzene prices in Europe and US.

In Japan, prices were quoted at US$ 595/ton on Jan 19, which too drove up by 15.97 per cent during the week and were offered at US$ 690/ton on Jan 23.
In India, prices were spotted at US$ 600/ton on Monday, which also rose massively by 15.83 per cent during this week and were witnessed at US$ 695/ton yesterday.
