Asian ethylene slips from weak upstream last week

Ethylene prices slipped in Asia in the last week ending Jan 23, due to weak upstream energy prices in the region.

In SE Asia, average prices declined by US$ 30/ton or 3.14 per cent and were assessed at US$ 925/ton last week, as compared to its previous week.

In NE Asia too, average prices dipped by US$ 5/ton and were quoted at US$ 915/ton last week, down 0.54 per cent as against its previous week.

In India also, average prices fell by US$ 30/ton and were spotted at US$ 925/ton last week from its previous week, a decrease of 3.14 per cent.

In Korea, average prices also reduced by US$ 5/ton or 0.57 per cent from its previous week and were offered at US$ 875/ton last week.
