Benzene prices fell in Europe and US in the current week ending Jan 30 mainly due to falling upstream energy prices, poor downstream demand and a decline in feedstock prices in the region.

Prices in Europe which were assessed at US$ 625/ton on Monday (Jan 26), went down by US$ 65/ton during the week and were assessed at US$ 560/ton on Friday (Jan 30).

Prices in US, which were in the range of US$ 205.50-206/ton on Monday, also reduced and were offered at US$ 201/ton on Thursday (Jan 29).
