Pesher is an association that provides welfare services and helps to find jobs for Ethiopian immigrant women by manufacturing ethnic embroidered products in Lod, a central district in Israel.
Pesher has set up a project with the help of Government assistance where in a group of local women were trained as seamstresses and worked full time for minimum wage.
These women earn about NIS1,000 from their products, which are sold from a store in Tel Aviv and directly to organizations.
This project, which employs around 15 Ethiopian Israeli women and supplies work to dozens of women in remote communities, is about to be closed due to lack of promised funding.
