Textile industry of Jambi, a province in Indonesia, which includes creations of batik and songket, the embroidery with specks of gold or silver thread, is unique but is disappearing rapidly due to lack of investors.

Artisans of batik and songket find trouble to obtain raw materials like cloth, thread and dye which are sold at a high price. They also have difficulties in developing and marketing their products.

Jambi provincial administration is now inviting investors to provide facilities like plots of land with the availability of raw material for manufacturing artifacts and, develop and market these unique creations in the international market.
