At Mercedes Australia Fashion Week (AFW) in Sydney a reputable Jewish designer, Charlie Brown, a 20-years experienced person and another practically unknown Michaela Ezra shared the limelight while competing for fashion dollars and newspaper column centimeters.
It was remarkable and such a huge occasion, as it is normally very tough to get into fashion week, cheeked out Michaela.
"I wanted to use colour to capture emotion and I wanted there to be charisma in each garment," explained Ezra, 24, a graduate of Moriah College and East Sydney TAFE Design Studio.
According to Brown, who still admits of goose bumps prior to a show said, "I feel comfortable with this show more than in previous years."
Brown, who changed to Judaism in 1998, a mother of three, described last week's display as 'simple,' 'edited' and a very 'Sydney approach to being sophisticated.'
In favour of Melbourne fashion week, she observed that she 'probably wouldn't do it that much differently.'
“OK, maybe I'd add a bit blacker,” she said jokingly.
Josh Goot, a 26-year-old designer, a stellar fashion-week debut, in his first compilation of luxury sportswear was unquestionable star of last year's event.
He did indicate added pressure for his second showing saying, "I wanted to show that I have matured as a designer and could create new and relevant clothes that were still Josh Goot but that people hadn't seen before."
He said, adding together that he hoped this year's show will produce more orders from the worthwhile US market.
