Janine Munslow programme leader Fashion Marketing, said: “The whole event was a fantastic success for the graduating fashion marketing students from Northumbria's School of Design. The judges commented on the supreme standard of work that was head and shoulders above the competition.
“Creating visionary and innovative new methods of delivering fashion and lifestyle concepts is what our programme is all about. One of the judges summed this up when he said 'these students present their ideas in a package – not just the product – but everything ready to go.”
Gill Rowe, Head of Fashion, added: “This is a fantastic accolade for Northumbria. These students represent what is best about the School of Design. They are energetic, creative and 100 percent committed. They have spades full of ideas and hard work in equal measure.”
Graduate Fashion Week was launched in 1991 as a forum for the very best of BA Graduate fashion design talent in the UK. The 2006 event, held at London's Battersea Park, was host to 39 of the top fashion and textile colleges. It featured a static exhibition and non-stop fashion shows culminating in the Gala Fashion Show and Awards on Wednesday 7th June.
